2002 EDITION: XVI Solidarity Prize awarded to Col·legi CINTRA (CINTRA School), and the Honorary Prize for Work in the Mass Media awarded to Comissió de Solidaritat del Col·legi de Periodistes de Barcelona (Solidarity Commision of the Barcelona College of Journalists)

In 2003, the IDHC awarded Col·legi CINTRA (CINTRA School) with the XVI Premi Solidaritat.

The panel wanted to recognise the outstanding work of the Col·legi CINTRA in their defence of fundamental rights.

The prize consisted of a work of art generously donated by the Catalan painter Jaume Millet.

The jurors also awarded the Comissió de Solidaritat del Col·legi de Periodistes de Barcelona (Solidarity Commission of the Barcelona College of Journalists) with the special mention 'Honorary Prize for Work in the Mass Media'.

The bestowment of the Premi Solidaritat and the Menció Mitjants de Comunicació took place on February 3rd, 2003, in the Catalonian Parliament. Mr. Ernest Benach, President of Catalonia Parliament and José Manuel Bandrès, honourary president of the Human Rights Institute of Catalonia presented the prizes.
