Clowns
without Borders (Spain) has been awarded for its humanitarian

of those in refugee camps in conflict zones.
The Prize consists of an art work, given freely by an artist,
and a commemorative plaque given during an official act in
the Catalan Parliament on the 7th February, 2006.
The works were given by Ferran Palao (Marianao Foundation)
and Jason Cresswell (Clowns without Borders). Both artists
belong to the Nodo
Visual Art Project, which is an internet
initiative to link artists and the public alike, and which
also organizes exhibitions in and around Barcelona.
The radio program "Sperant Obstacles" received
the Honorary Prize for Work in the Mass Media
Within the work of the Premi Solidaritat, the HRIC also gives
a special mention to outstanding work in the Mass Media. In
2005 the recognition was given to the radio programme "Superant
obstacles (Surpassing Obstacles)", braodcast
by Catalunya Ràdio and directed by Montserat Pous.
This programme gives information and news related to the world
of people with handicaps. The programme also gives a critical
point of view about day to day issues from the view of someone
with problems of mobility. With this award the jury wanted
to recognize the work of the programme which actively promotes
the situation of people with handicaps, and which helps to
break down the barriers which complicate the daily life of
those with disabilities.
