THE RIGHT TO ACCESS TO DRINKING WATER

The objective of this seminar was
to debate the different aspects that woud come together
in the possible realization of this right.
The use of water was discussed from
different perspectives: from recognising the right
to drinking water as a human right, to accepting the
reality that water is also a natural resource with
an economic cost, and finally that it is also a commodity
considering the perspective of utilities companies.

CHARTER OF EMERGING HUMAN
RIGHTS: TOWARDS A BASIC INCOME OF CITIZENSHIP
the 2nd to 17th of November
Objective:
Education about the idea of Basic Income, an innovating
and stimulating answer to the current economical and
social inequalities. The course was divided into theoretical
and practical modules. It also aimed to be a discussion
meeting about the Charter of Emerging Human Rights,
adopted in September 2004 in the framework of the
Universal Forum of the Cultures-Barcelona 2004.s
Aimed at:
Students, members of associations, social workers,
politicians, academics and civil employees of local
and regional administrationss.

I COURSE OF FORMATION IN HUMAN RIGHTS FOR
LATIN AMERICAN JUDGES
From 27th of June to 8th of July
The I Course of Formation in Human
Rights for Latin American Judges was organized by
the IDHC and the Judges for Democary from Spain. This
course was started in Barcelona with the intention
of contributing to the reflection and analysis about
these countries from the human rights perspective.
