HISTORICAL MEMORY
By analysing the diverse solutions adopted in the international sphere, the parliamentary proceedings that are currently taking place in the Congreso de los Diputados for the controversial Law of Historical Memory, and in the Catalan Parliament for the Democratic Memorial Law can be appreciated with better perspective. The work examines to what point these legislative iniciatives carry out the objective of making these rights effective, and serve to compensate victims.

Els drets humans al s. XXI: continuïtat i canvis
Els drets humans al segle XXI: continuïtat i canvis gives a lucid account of the recent advances in the protection of human dignity. This collective work contributes to the understanding of the main problems and challenges faced in the safeguarding of human rights in the 21st century from a legal and political perspective. The twelve subjects tackled analyse the historical and philosophical bases of human rights, the emerging human rights' different systems of legal protection, and the ways in which human rights interact with the political and social spheres. What are the philosophical and legal bases of the creation and development of human rights? What role does the UN play in their international protection? How does globalisation affect social progress? These are some of the questions that are tackled in this book.
